Job summary

Prologis is seeking a Senior AI Applied Engineer to explore and deploy enterprise AI patterns, including agentic workflows and retrieval-augmented techniques. You will design hypothesis-driven pilots, evaluate results, and translate learnings into scalable architectures in collaboration with AI platform and delivery teams.

You’ll build reference implementations, communicate findings through demos, and connect technical outcomes to business value while advancing secure, cost-aware AWS solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering or equivalent experience delivering production-quality systems.
• Expert Python skills including clean architecture, testing, packaging, performance and reliability.
• Strong AWS architecture and development experience (security/IAM, networking, serverless/containers, monitoring).
• Strong data foundations: SQL, data modeling, APIs/integration; familiar with RAG and text-to-SQL patterns.
• Hypothesis-driven experimentation with well-defined evaluation plans, metrics, timeboxing, and actionable decisions.
• Clear communication to technical and business stakeholders; proven storytelling and influence through results.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience designing and interpreting LLM evaluations (faithfulness, hallucination, cost/latency).
• Familiarity with modern LLM stacks across vendors; ability to reason about tradeoffs, portability, maintainability.
• Hands-on experience with agentic systems (tool use, memory strategies, multi-agent orchestration) and reliability/evaluation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI innovation and rapid experimentation to advance Prologis capabilities.
• Design and execute timeboxed pilots with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and kill/scale points.
• Evolve enterprise AI patterns and standards (RAG, text-to-SQL, evaluation/observability, guardrails).
• Build reference implementations and handoff docs for scalable architectures with Central AI team.
• Develop within AWS ecosystem with secure, observable, cost-aware architectures and strong engineering practices.
• Communicate results through demos and readouts linking tech outcomes to business value and next steps.
• Support priority projects to de-risk and accelerate with clear entry/exit criteria.
• Synthesize external research, OSS trends, and vendor capabilities into actionable recommendations.
