Job summary

Prologis is seeking a Senior AI Applied Engineer to explore and prototype emerging AI techniques, shaping enterprise AI patterns, and delivering scalable architectures. You will collaborate with AI platform and delivery teams to translate results into concrete implementations.

You will design hypothesis-driven pilots, evaluate outcomes, and communicate findings with business impact in mind, while contributing to secure, cost-aware AWS-based solutions and evolving reference implementations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-quality systems.
• Expert Python skills with clean architecture, testing, packaging.
• Strong AWS architecture and development experience (security/IAM, networking, serverless/containers, monitoring).
• Strong data foundations: SQL, data modeling, APIs/integration; comfortable with RAG and text-to-SQL.
• Rigorous experimentation: hypothesis-driven, metrics, timeboxing, pragmatic decisions.
• Clear communication to technical and business stakeholders; storytelling through results.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience designing and interpreting LLM evaluations (faithfulness, hallucination analysis, cost/latency).
• Familiarity with modern LLM stacks across vendors; portability & maintainability considerations.
• Experience with agentic systems (tool use, memory strategies, multi-agent orchestration).

Responsibilities

• Drive AI innovation and rapid experimentation to advance Prologis capabilities.
• Design and execute timeboxed pilots with hypotheses, metrics, kill/scale points.
• Enhance enterprise AI patterns (RAG, text-to-SQL, evaluation/observability, guardrails).
• Build reference implementations and handoff docs for scalable architectures with Central AI.
• Develop within AWS using secure, observable, cost-aware architectures and strong software practices.
• Communicate results through demos and readouts linking outcomes to business value.
• Support priority projects with de-risking and acceleration goals.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools and vendor offerings; synthesize external research into actionable recommendations.
