Job summary

HoYoverse is seeking a senior English localization editor based in Shanghai or willing to relocate. You will lead English quality across live-service titles, translating and polishing Simplified Chinese content into natural English while preserving tone, humor, and gameplay clarity.

You will develop terminology databases, style guides, and translation memories, mentor linguists, and drive robust linguistic QA across projects.

Qualifications

Native English speaker with exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and editorial judgment.
Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
At least five years of professional game-localization experience, including Chinese-to-English translation/editing.

Responsibilities

Serve as a senior English quality owner across assigned titles and workstreams, setting editorial standards and making defensible final recommendations.
Translate, edit, and rewrite complex or high-impact Simplified Chinese content into polished English that recreates intended meaning, tone, and gameplay clarity.
Develop and maintain terminology databases, style guides, and translation memories for consistent team use.
Mentor and develop other linguists through feedback and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Where aligned, take on people management or leadership responsibilities.
