Job summary

The City of Greeley Engineering Technician III role supports planning, design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, including streets, drainage, water, wastewater, and related systems.

This position independently handles complex field and office assignments and coordinates projects while serving as a senior technical resource to engineering staff and lower-level technicians.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required with 4+ years in engineering technology, inspection, surveying, or related field.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience using CAD, GIS, GPS or related engineering technology.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and review engineering drawings, maps, and plans for streets, drainage, water, wastewater, and other municipal infrastructure using CAD, GIS, and related software.
• Provide technical support for capital improvement projects, including calculations, field investigations, and data collection.
• Perform advanced construction inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, city standards, permits, and safety requirements.
