Job summary

The City of Greeley is hiring a Parks Maintenance Technician I to perform general upkeep of park facilities, rights-of-way and medians, including irrigation and landscape maintenance. The role involves operating a variety of motorized equipment and hand tools, with off-season snow removal duties.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, a Colorado driver’s license, and experience in ground maintenance and plant care.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience using a truck plow, hand shovel, snow blower, poly cord trimmer, and gas-powered water pump.

Responsibilities

Perform landscape maintenance including drip systems, mowing, watering, pruning, weed control, and facility/equipment repairs.
Design, prepare, till, fertilize, water, install, and maintain planting beds.
Completes snow removal routes and duties.
Repair and maintain parks and playground equipment.
Assist with data collection for performance measures to monitor Forestry Quality Index ratings.
Plant, mulch, weed, prune, water, apply chemicals, and pick up trash in landscape beds.
Provide a consistent maintenance program to improve appearance for the city.
Provide support to other staff during peak times and with larger projects (snow removal, irrigation inventory).
