Job summary

Circle is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Risk and Compliance Engineering team, building and scaling the centralized onboarding and lifecycle platform that underpins Circle's regulatory compliance infrastructure. You will guide architecture and execution while growing a high-performing, inclusive team across Product, Risk, Compliance, and Engineering.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on architecture
3+ years of people management experience
Strong background in scalable distributed systems, APIs, and backend platforms
Ability to coach senior staff and drive professional growth
Experience making architectural decisions and ensuring reliability and security
Leadership and cross-functional collaboration across product, risk, compliance and engineering

Responsibilities

Lead engineering team for Circle's onboarding and lifecycle platform in risk/compliance
Build scalable onboarding automation for customers across Circle products
Evolve a unified customer lifecycle platform handling changes over time
Develop partner APIs, embeddable SDKs, and integrations for third-party apps
Create onboarding capabilities respecting eligibility and jurisdiction-specific rules
Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, Fraud, and Engineering to support reviews and risk management
Drive architecture, reliability, security, and operational excellence while coaching engineers
