Job summary

Mercury is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead the Custody team, guiding core systems such as cash and securities ledgers, security master service, and reconciliation to scale for diverse clients.

You will hire and develop senior engineers, own the technical roadmap, and partner with product, operations, and compliance to translate regulatory requirements into robust, auditable workflows while balancing delivery and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing highly technical teams.
• Experience building or operating RIA/broker-dealer custody systems at scale (ledgers, security master, reconciliation).
• Understanding of broker-dealer operating model and data flow across brokers, clearing firms, custodians.
• Close collaboration with compliance and operations to translate requirements into engineering decisions and controls.
• Knowledge of settlement lifecycle and implications for cash/positions across assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers, providing feedback and building a trustful environment.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and roadmap, translating investment goals into priorities and delivery.
• Guide design and evolution of core custody systems: ledgers, security master, reconciliation, cash/money movement.
• Partner with product, operations, and compliance to create auditable workflows that balance correctness and scale.
• Collaborate with Product and Partnerships to align integrations and roadmaps.
• Set high standards for correctness, reliability, and incident response.
