Job summary

Mercury is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead the Custody team, guiding core systems like ledgers, security master, and reconciliation. You will drive the technical roadmap, hire and mentor engineers, and partner with product, operations, and compliance to translate business needs into scalable, auditable solutions.

You will balance new capabilities with maintenance, ensuring accuracy and reliability across equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds within Mercury's custody

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing highly technical teams.
• Direct experience building or operating custody systems at scale.
• Understanding of broker‑dealer operating models and data flow.
• Worked with compliance and operations to translate requirements into controls.
• Knowledge of securities lifecycle, settlements, and corporate actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers for the Custody group.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and roadmap with clear priorities.
• Guide design of core custody systems: ledgers, security master, reconciliation.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance to build auditable workflows.
• Align integrations and roadmaps with Product and Partnerships.
• Maintain high bar for correctness, reliability, and incident response.
