Job summary

Mercury is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead the Custody team and scale its systems for multiple clients. You will own the technical strategy, roadmap, and the design of core custody components including ledgers, security master service, and reconciliation, while partnering with compliance and operations to ensure robust controls.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience managing technical teams and hands-on experience with broker-dealer custody systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing highly technical teams.
• Experience building/operating custody systems for broker-dealers and RIAs at scale (ledgers, security master, reconciliation, money movement).
• Understanding of broker-dealer operating model and data flow across introducing brokers, clearing firms, custodians.
• Worked closely with compliance and operations to translate requirements into engineering controls.
• Understanding the lifecycle of securities and implications of settlement and corporate actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers; foster a trusting environment.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and roadmap aligned with Mercury’s investment ambitions.
• Guide design and evolution of core custody systems: cash and securities ledgers, security master, reconciliation.
• Partner with product, ops, and compliance to translate requirements into auditable workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and Partnerships to align integrations and roadmaps.
• Set high bar for correctness, reliability, and incident response while maintaining systems.
