Mercury is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead the Custody team, guiding the ledger, security master, and reconciliation systems. You will partner with product, operations, and compliance to translate requirements into robust, auditable platforms that scale for diverse clients.

You will hire and mentor senior engineers, define the technical strategy, and balance new features with reliability and incident response. This role offers a strategic impact across investments operations.

Qualifications

• Has 3+ years of experience managing highly technical teams.
• Direct experience building or operating RIA and broker-dealer custody systems at scale, including ledgers, security master service, cash and securities reconciliation, and money movement.
• Understands the broker-dealer operating model and how data flows across introducing brokers, clearing firms, and custodians.
• Has worked closely with compliance and operations teams, translating requirements into practical engineering decisions and effective controls.
• Understands the lifecycle of securities and the implications of settlement for customer cash and positions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers, providing feedback and fostering a trusting environment.
• Own the team's technical strategy and roadmap, translating investment ambitions into priorities and delivery.
• Design and evolve core custody systems, including ledgers, security master, reconciliation, and position tracking.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance to deliver auditable, scalable systems with proper controls.
• Align integrations and roadmaps with product and partnerships, maintaining high reliability and incident readiness.
• Balance new capabilities with maintenance of critical systems to uphold correctness and resilience.
