Job summary

Mercury, a fintech company, is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead the Custody team responsible for the ledger, security master service, reconciliation, and related systems that support our Treasury and Invest products.

You will hire and grow a team of senior engineers and translate business goals into a focused technical roadmap that scales for both small and large customers, balancing new capabilities with robust operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing highly technical teams.
• Direct experience building or operating custody systems at scale (RIA and broker-dealer).
• Understands the broker-dealer operating model and data flows across introducing brokers, clearing firms, and custodians.
• Has worked with compliance and operations translating requirements into practical engineering controls.
• Understands securities lifecycle and settlement implications for cash and positions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers, providing feedback and building a trusting environment.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and roadmap, translating Mercury’s ambitions into priorities and delivery.
• Guide the design and evolution of core custody systems, including ledgers, security master, position tracking, and reconciliation.
• Partner with product, investment operations, and compliance to turn requirements into auditable workflows balancing correctness and scale.
• Collaborate with Product and Partnerships to align integrations and roadmaps.
• Set a high bar for correctness, reliability, and incident response, maintaining and improving critical systems.
