Job summary

Mercury is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead the Custody team, driving growth and scale for core financial infrastructure. You will shape the technical strategy, mentor senior engineers, and translate business and regulatory requirements into robust, auditable systems.

In this role you will partner with product, operations, and compliance to balance correctness and scale while ensuring reliable incident response and maintainable architecture for custody ledgers and reconciliation

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing highly technical teams
• Direct experience building/operating RIA and broker-dealer custody systems at scale (ledgers, security master, cash/securities reconciliation, money movement)
• Understanding of broker-dealer operating model and data flows across introducing brokers, clearing firms, custodians
• Experience working with compliance and operations teams to translate requirements into engineering decisions and controls
• Understanding lifecycle of securities and related custody processes

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers with a focus on trust and accountability
• Own the team’s technical strategy and delivery roadmap
• Guide design and evolution of core custody systems including ledgers and reconciliation
• Collaborate with product, investment operations, and compliance to turn requirements into well-designed systems and auditable workflows
• Coordinate with Product and Partnerships to align integrations and roadmaps
• Set high standards for correctness, reliability, and incident response
