Job summary

Remitly is building the Remitly Global Card, and we seek a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Card team. You will own features end to end — screens, APIs, and services that issue cards, hold balances, and move money — as the first engineering leader in our Arlington office.

You will set engineering culture, hire future teammates, and drive AI-enabled developer productivity in a high-trust, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years in software engineering with hands-on management.
• 5+ years hiring and managing technical teams with performance reviews.
• Experience designing secure, scalable software on cloud platforms (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and drive long-term cross-team engineering strategy.
• Partner with product and design to prioritize roadmap and translate into OKRs.
• Responsible for execution, including quarterly goals and resource allocation.
• Hire and grow the engineering team, onboarding engineers.
• Champion safe adoption of AI tools to boost productivity and velocity.
• Mentor engineers in line with Remitly values and culture.
• Collaborate with leadership on organizational design and prioritization.
• Represent the team in cross-functional planning with Product, Design, Analytics, and partner teams.
