Job summary

Remitly, Inc. in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Card team to lead end-to-end features, APIs, and services that issue cards and move money. You will shape engineering culture as the first leader in the Arlington office and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive AI-enabled developer productivity.

You will mentor engineers, own quarterly goals, and guide hiring while upholding Remitly's values in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering with hands-on management.
• Experience with Go, Kotlin, Java or TypeScript and API design.
• Experience deploying on AWS and scaling cloud services.
• Proven ability to apply AI to developer productivity and product features.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and drive long-term cross-team engineering agendas.
• Partner with product/design to translate strategy into OKRs and roadmaps.
• Own execution: quarterly goals, resources, prioritization.
• Hire, grow, and mentor engineering talent across the Card team.
• Champion safe AI tool adoption and maintain high trust in a regulated product.
