Responsive, a leader in Strategic Response Management, seeks a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to steer multiple teams and own technical outcomes for major product areas. • 14+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership, including managing managers or multiple teams.
• Hands-on technical leadership with ongoing coding contributions.
• Experience building and shipping AI agents or AI-driven systems in production.
• Experience owning and operating high-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for your product area across Java, React, and MongoDB.
• Spend about 30% of time on architecture, design and code reviews, prototyping, and implementation.
• Manage engineering managers, tech leads, and engineers across levels; coach and develop leaders.
• Own hiring for your teams end to end; assess fit during the 3-month probation and make exit decisions.
• Guide the design and delivery of AI agents and LLM-powered capabilities, including RAG pipelines and workflow automation.
