Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the AI/BI Dashboard team to grow the product and service platform across full-stack and backend spaces. You will balance performance, cost, and quality while applying AI/LLM techniques to product surfaces, guiding teams to scale for a higher user base and more complex dashboards.

You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and lead multiple teams, drive recruitment, and build processes to translate product vision into actionable

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in managing multiple teams that build and operate products and systems in a SaaS environment.
• 10+ years of experience with distributed systems and building products, platforms and services and best in class application experience which serve multiple product teams and customers.
• Have experience in scaling engineering teams from 15 to 35+
• Team player that will work with other departments (PM, CS) and engineering teams.
• BS or higher in Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong track record of attracting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent
• Experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving tech environment

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple talented engineering teams of full stack/backend engineers and SMEs as well as managers focused on the above initiatives.
• Oversee sustained recruitment of top-tier IC talent and Managers, and developing talent across the teams.
• Build processes to implement product vision and strategy, according to organizational goals and priorities.
• Build software that is not just high quality, but easy to operate.
• Manage technical debt, including long-term technical architecture decisions, and balance product roadmap
