Job summary

Advance CNC Machining is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager who can lead the engineering team, solve problems, and keep projects moving forward. This leadership role guides a group of mechanical engineers delivering custom parts for demanding aerospace and defense customers in a fast-growing, AS9100-certified environment.

You will own the team's performance metrics and budget, coach engineers, optimize workflows, and drive efficiency and quality improvements.

Qualifications

10+ years of combined experience in design engineering.
Deep understanding of machining and related manufacturing processes.
Experience leading and mentoring direct reports, with excellent communication and accountability.
Strong analytical skills for diagnosing design or production challenges.
Ability to guide engineers through concept development, 3D modeling, prints, tolerances, and manufacturability reviews.
Mindset focused on efficiency, quality improvement, and cost savings.

Responsibilities

Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of mechanical engineers.
Lead performance management, including goal setting, feedback, and professional growth planning.
Optimize engineering workflows to increase throughput, reduce waste, and streamline handoffs with production teams.
Troubleshoot design issues with an analytical, solutions-oriented approach.
Own the Engineering group's performance indicators and budget.
