Job summary

Applied Aerospace & Defense, formerly PCX, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our engineering organization in a demanding aerospace manufacturing environment. This role emphasizes leadership of a team of engineers and close collaboration with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to improve manufacturing performance and successful launches.

The candidate should have strong technical expertise in traditional machining, GD&T, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in engineering within a manufacturing environment with leadership experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of traditional machining and metal manufacturing processes.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing or similarly demanding precision manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling, workholding, tolerances, GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing and process engineers.
• Provide technical direction and support for complex manufacturing challenges.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies.
• Partner with machinists and production leadership to resolve shop-floor issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
• Support NPI, process development, and production launches.
• Review and improve methods, tooling, fixtures, and process documentation.
• Lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions for issues.
• Ensure processes and documentation meet aerospace, customer, and company requirements.
