Job summary
Votaw Precision Technologies, LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function on CNC manufacturing for aerospace and defense components. The role requires hands-on shop-floor leadership, design review, and process optimization across multi-axis machining, tooling, and inspection.
You will collaborate with machinists, programmers, quality, and planning to ensure on-time delivery of mission-critical parts.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in CNC machining/manufacturing engineering with leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining.
- Experience with VTL and CNC turning operations.
- Ability to read complex drawings, GD&T, specs, and materials.
- Proficiency in CATIA and/or SolidWorks.
- Experience developing manufacturing plans and routings.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Epicor.
- Ability to lead shop-floor teams and communicate across departments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering for CNC manufacturing operations.
- Provide daily technical floor support and troubleshoot issues.
- Review jobs for manufacturability and determine machining strategies.
- Lead the Engineering Review Board for new and repeat jobs.
- Review customer drawings, tolerances, and special requirements.
- Develop manufacturing plans, routing processes, and lead times.
- Coordinate with planning to optimize routes and costs.
- Review CNC programs for toolpaths, tooling, and risks.
