Job summary

Saint Kate, The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee, seeks a Chief Engineer to provide strategic leadership for all engineering, maintenance, and facility operations. You will oversee the Engineering team, preventive maintenance programs, and capital projects to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained property.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive engineering or facilities maintenance experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.
• Hospitality/large facilities experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all engineering, maintenance, life safety, and facility operations.
• Lead and develop the Engineering team through hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs, work orders, and building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety.
• Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, identifying cost savings.
• Plan capital improvement projects and facility upgrades to protect assets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, etc.).
• Collaborate with hotel leadership on energy management and guest experiences.
• Maintain vendor/contractor relationships and monitor inventory and standards.
• Prepare reports and recommendations on facility conditions and capital needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
