Job summary

Magnolia St. Louis is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all MEP systems across the hotel and lead the Engineering Department.

You will establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs, manage safety initiatives, and lead capital improvement projects while coordinating with contractors and departments. The role requires strong leadership, budget discipline, and a hands-on approach to ensure exceptional guest comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or technical degree required.
• Minimum five years in hospitality facilities management.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and life-safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Engineering Department ensuring service values are upheld.
• Oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems and capital improvements.
• Manage preventive maintenance program and safety initiatives; mentor staff and conduct evaluations.
• Coordinate outside contractors; manage work orders, purchasing, and inventory.
• Ensure adherence to budgeting, forecasting, and department scheduling.
