Job summary

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead all engineering, maintenance, and facility operations. You will guide the engineering team, oversee preventive maintenance, manage capital projects, and ensure safety and efficiency across the property in Milwaukee's Theater District.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Associate's in engineering-related fields and 5–7 years of progressive facilities experience with leadership exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Progressive engineering or facilities maintenance experience with leadership exposure (2+ years).
• Experience in hotel, resort, hospitality, healthcare, or large commercial facilities is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all engineering, maintenance, life safety, and facility operations.
• Lead, develop, and manage the Engineering team through hiring, training, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and succession planning.
• Direct preventive maintenance programs, work order completion, and the repair and operation of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, fire life safety, kitchen equipment).
• Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, including labor, supplies, and contracted services.
• Plan, prioritize, and oversee capital improvement projects and major repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, life safety).
• Partner with hotel leadership to support operations, energy management, and guest/associate experience.
• Maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, regulators, and internal stakeholders; monitor inventory and standards.
• Prepare reports and forecasts on facility condition and capital needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
