Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Sr Engineering Manager to lead two teams within the Architecture and Systems organization, responsible for the Slack client backend and frontend infrastructure. You will drive a clear roadmap, mentor engineers, and partner with engineers, managers, and product managers to balance priorities and deliver high-impact initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring a team of high performing engineers.
• Experience designing, scaling, and operating backend services and distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of API design principles.
• Deep knowledge of browsers and frontend technologies.
• Ability to make rapid technical decisions in a fast moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to set the long term vision and execution strategy by utilizing your technical knowledge.
• Define, monitor, and report against quarterly measures for team deliverables.
• Represent the team in planning, product, and leadership meetings within the organization and across Slack engineering.
• Regularly connect with cross functional partners across Slack engineering to drive alignment and execute against business goals.
• Mentor, teach, and coach the team while supporting and advocating for the career development and interests of the individuals on the team.
• Champion AI-assisted development practices across the team, and identify opportunities to apply them to both engineering and operational workflows.
