Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Intelligent Platforms & Agents to join our client in delivering distributed, AI-enabled services in a secure, cloud-native environment. The role focuses on building scalable microservices and intelligent agents, with emphasis on automation, IaC, and secure development practices.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with systems engineers and security teams, and drive modern CI/CD pipelines while maintaining rigorous documentation and testing

Qualifications

• BS degree and 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and building complex or distributed systems.
• Experience with AI/ML systems, including LLM integration in production.
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience delivering software in secure, regulated, or compliance-driven environments.
• Ability to bridge software development, systems engineering, and security disciplines.
• Must have and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain distributed systems and microservices
• Build, integrate, and evolve intelligent agents and AI-enabled services
• Define and implement patterns for agent orchestration and decision workflows
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation practices
• Partner with systems engineers to embed requirements and security into design
• Establish development standards for collaboration, testing, and documentation
• Mentor mid-level engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
• Lead integration of CI/CD pipelines and security tooling into development
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical solutions
• Contribute to an everything as code approach for operational artifacts
