Job summary

DNV Energy Systems North America seeks a Gas Generation Power Senior Engineer SME with deep experience in conventional and flexible thermal generation. The role supports advisory services across M&A, IE, and OE for North American projects.

You will evaluate gas turbines, steam systems, and balance-of-plant assets, translating operating history into decision-grade technical guidance for developers, owners, lenders and investors.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with power plant design and operation.
• Knowledge of M&A, IE, OE processes in energy
• Ability to translate operating data into advisory recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the thermal technical lead across advisory engagements involving gas turbines, steam turbines, boiler systems and balance-of-plant assets.
• Lead technical evaluations of assets and portfolios, identifying risks, value drivers and lifecycle considerations.
• Assess plant condition and performance using operating history, outage records, heat rate trends, and dispatch profiles.
• Apply engineering experience to evaluate reliability, degradation mechanisms and maintenance strategies.
• Support technical due diligence, IE and OE scopes, including review of plant design, EPC/O&M inputs to financial models, and site visits.
