Job summary

DNV Energy Systems North America is seeking a Gas Generation Power Senior Engineer SME with deep experience in conventional and flexible thermal generation to support advisory services across M&A, independent engineering, and owner’s engineering for thermal assets.

You will evaluate greenfield designs, plant condition, performance, maintenance strategy, and lifecycle risk, translating findings into decision-grade technical advice for developers, owners, lenders, and investors across North

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related discipline) is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in thermal power generation with knowledge of plant design, cycles, and performance across conventional and flexible assets.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English; ability to translate complex issues into clear insights.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the thermal technical lead across advisory engagements involving gas turbines, steam turbines, boiler systems, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Lead technical evaluations of assets and portfolios identifying key risks and lifecycle considerations.
• Assess plant condition using operating history, outages, maintenance records, heat rate trends, and dispatch profiles.
