Job summary

DNV Energy Systems North America is seeking a Gas Generation Power Senior Engineer SME to support advisory services across M&A, Independent Engineering, and Owner's Engineering for thermal assets. The role requires deep experience in conventional and flexible thermal generation and the ability to translate operating data into decision-grade technical advice for developers, owners, lenders, and investors.

The position is based in a distributed set of North American offices with a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with power plant design, operations and performance.
• Deep knowledge of thermal generation assets and advisory work.
• Experience in due diligence, project development, financing or transactions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as thermal technical lead across advisory engagements.
• Lead evaluations of thermal assets, identifying risks, value drivers, and lifecycle considerations.
• Assess plant condition using operating history, outages, heat rate and efficiency trends.
• Apply engineering judgment to evaluate reliability, degradation, and maintenance strategies.
• Support due diligence and owner’s engineering scopes, including design reviews and technical inputs to financial models.
