Job summary

DNV Energy Systems North America seeks a Gas Generation Power Senior Engineer SME with deep experience in conventional and flexible thermal generation to support advisory services across M&A, IE, and OE. This role requires practical operating and design knowledge of power plants and the ability to translate findings into decision-grade technical advice for developers, owners, and investors.

The position is based in North America with a dynamic hybrid schedule across multiple US offices, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical or related engineering field.
Minimum five years in thermal power generation with plant design knowledge.
Experience translating technical issues for stakeholders.
Familiar with EPC/O&M contracts and project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

Serve as the thermal technical lead across advisory engagements.
Lead evaluations of assets, identifying risks and value drivers.
Assess plant condition using operating history and performance data.
Evaluate reliability and maintenance strategies with practical engineering judgment.
Support due diligence and owner’s engineering scopes; participate in site visits.
