Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel between MA, CT, NH; valid driver's license.

Job description

  • Maintain support and manage the source of records of the Distribution SCADA system
  • Participate in planning, development, scheduling, and troubleshooting of D-SCADA
  • Provide engineering and technical services for complex systems and equipment
  • Design new substations and infrastructure
  • Analyze systems, service disruptions, equipment failures, and system disturbances
  • Engineer electrical protection and control circuits for power flow
  • Conduct acceptance testing of equipment
  • Support multidisciplinary Grid Modernization teams throughout project lifecycles, from conception and regulatory filings through planning, implementation, performance measurement, and verification
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve increasingly complex engineering problems
  • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities
  • Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
  • Conduct engineering studies and complete non-routine projects with minimal oversight
  • Independently manage project schedules and interfaces
  • Develop, validate, and maintain power system models used by EMS Network Applications
  • Develop, configure, test, and commission RTUs and field devices for SCADA integration
  • Perform SCADA network analysis and troubleshoot communications between SCADA systems and field devices
  • Develop positive working relationships and coordinate work activities
  • Maintain accurate records and files
  • Support company goals and represent the company professionally
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Five to eight years of related experience required
  • High-level proficiency in SCADA applications, including configuration, database development, control mapping, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in DNP3 communication protocol, point mapping, control configuration, alarm analysis, and messaging analytics
  • Experience developing, validating, and maintaining power system models for EMS Network Applications
  • Experience developing, configuring, testing, and commissioning RTUs and field devices for SCADA integration
  • Experience performing SCADA network analysis using tools such as Wireshark
  • Knowledge of utility power systems preferred
  • Familiarity with power-related software preferred
  • Ability to independently develop, present, and execute projects collaboratively
  • Must be available for emergency restoration assignments
  • Must be available to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary
  • Occasional to significant travel by car may be required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and in a team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and balance competing high-priority work demands
