Eversource Energy in the Northeast United States is seeking a Senior Engineer to design and support SCADA/EMS, substation projects, and protection/control systems. The role combines office and field work across diverse projects, including testing equipment and resolving disturbances.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5–8 years of related experience, with travel between MA/CT/NH and occasional emergencies.

The Senior Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. We offer a unique and exciting opportunity to explore the best of both worlds, working both in the office and the field on a variety of interesting projects. Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handles the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances.
Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to workat least three days in the office, includingTuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. This position is accountable for maintaining support and managing the source of records of the Distribution SCADA system. The Senior Engineer will participate in planning, development, scheduling and troubleshooting of D-SCADA.The Senior Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization.
Grid Modernization is responsible for directly supporting the Company’s plans to modernize the design and operation of the electric distribution system. In this role you will support multi-disciplinary teams through the life cycle of projects from conception and regulatory filings, planning and implementation, and through performance measurement and verification.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Experience: Five to eight (5 to -8 years) related experience is required. Familiarity with SCADA/EMS is highly desirable.
