Job summary

ZipStaff seeks a Principal Architect to define the target-state architecture for mobility, endpoint platforms, and field technology at a major passenger-rail organization. The role focuses on offline-capable devices, rugged hardware, kiosks, and shared endpoints used in asset management, engineering, and maintenance.

You will lead standard-setting for devices, architecture roadmaps, and integration with EAM, ERP, GIS, ITSM, and identity systems while ensuring device compliance and secure

Qualifications

• 8+ years in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, mobility, endpoint management, or field technology.
• 3+ years in a senior architecture role in a large enterprise.
• Experience designing and integrating mobile/endpoint platforms with ERP, GIS, ITSM, and EAM systems.
• Experience with iOS, Android, Windows, rugged devices, and shared-device management.
• Understanding of UEM/MDM tools and device compliance (Intune, Workspace ONE, Jamf, Ivanti).
• Knowledge of PKI, CA, Zero Trust, and identity security.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for mobility, endpoint, and field technology.
• Set standards for corporate, rugged, shared, kiosk, and specialized devices.
• Architect field mobility for maintenance, inspections, and asset-work.
• Design integration patterns to EAM, ERP, GIS, ITSM, identity, and document management.
• Define UEM/MDM, device compliance, app delivery, ZTNA, and endpoint protection.
• Design connectivity across Wi-Fi, cellular, private LTE/5G, and VPN/ZTNA with offline-first sync.
• Rationalize fragmented mobility platforms and devices.
• Lead solution reviews and vendor evaluations.
