Job summary

GameStop is seeking a Senior Counsel - Employment and Litigation to provide legal guidance on litigation and employment issues. This onsite role in Grapevine, TX supports compliance and strategic policy development across the company.

The senior attorney will manage litigation, advise HR on hiring, discipline, leaves, and wage-hour compliance, and coordinate with outside counsel on complex matters. A JD and state bar licensure are required with 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited program.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one state.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience; mix of law firm and in-house preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient understanding of employment laws.
• Ability to manage cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing litigation, including employment, real estate and commercial litigation.
• Counsel on employment and compensation matters, including hiring, discipline, accommodations and leaves; liaison to HR.
• Support development of organizational policies, procedures and business strategies.
• Leverage outside law firm attorneys and manage relationships with external affiliates.
• Provide advice on compliance with wage, hour and employment practices laws.
• Support compliance program; maintain Code of Ethics and Whistleblower Hotline.
• Assist with negotiation and evaluation of a wide range of contracts.
• Manage additional legal projects as needed.
