The ideal candidate has a J.D., Iowa license, 5+ years in employment/labor or litigation, strong writing and advocacy, and the ability to manage client relationships independently. In-person work location.

Qualifications

• J.D. required from an accredited law school.
• Active Iowa license or ability to obtain admission quickly.
• 5+ years in employment, labor, and/or litigation.
• Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy.
• Ability to independently manage client relationships and caseload.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of civil litigation from case assessment through trial, appeal, or resolution.
• Represent clients in litigation, administrative proceedings, investigations, mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
• Advise employers on federal, state, and local employment law compliance.
• Counsel clients on workplace investigations, employee relations, accommodations, leave issues, wage/hour compliance, discipline, and termination decisions.
• Draft and review employment-related documents, policies, handbooks, and agreements.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development and practice growth.
