Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago seeks a Manager, Employee Relations to guide leaders on complex workplace matters, oversee investigations, and ensure compliance with employment laws and healthcare regulations.

This role partners with senior HR to develop policies and drive engagement. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in employee relations; certification such as PHR/SPHR/SHRM‑SCP is preferred. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
• 5+ years’ experience handling employee relations matters.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HR principles and employment laws (federal, state, local).
• Strong problem-solving, investigative and analytical abilities; ability to write reports and recommend actions.

Responsibilities

• Manages employee relations within HR; develops policies and oversees internal audits of issues and conflicts.
• Oversees investigations of harassment, discrimination, or policy violations; maintains confidential records.
• Resolve escalated workplace issues with fair, consistent treatment.
• Coach leaders to improve engagement and retention while ensuring legal and policy compliance.
• Advise employees and communicate concerns to leadership; support channels for feedback.
