Job summary

McKinstry in Denver, CO is seeking an Employee Relations and Compliance Manager to guide complex ER matters and ensure employment law compliance across the organization. You will investigate issues, advise managers, and coordinate responses with legal counsel, while upholding policy integrity and records management.

In this role, you’ll lead ADA accommodation processes, oversee EEO-1 reporting, background checks, I-9 coordination, and help shape proactive ER risk management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA) and state equivalents.
• Experience investigating harassment, discrimination, and employee misconduct.
• Strong understanding of performance management, corrective action, and progressive discipline.
• Experience with ADA interactive process, accommodation analysis, and documentation.
• Familiarity with EEO-1, VETS-4212, and background check adjudication (FCRA).
• Knowledge of immigration processes (I-9, work authorization, immigration counsel coordination).
• Experience responding to government inquiries, wage/hour claims, or demand letters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations of complex ER issues; document findings and actions.
• Develop standardized performance management framework; coach managers on PIPs.
• Advise on ADA accommodation requests and interactive process.
• Oversee employment law compliance: EEO-1, background checks, I-9, records management.
• Serve as HR policy interpreter and provide guidance on employment law implications.
