Job summary

McKinstry is seeking an Employee Relations and Compliance Manager to join our growing HR team in Seattle, WA. You will provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters and ensure compliance with employment laws.

Responsibilities include investigating ER issues, advising on performance management and ADA accommodations, and overseeing reporting, background checks, I-9 management and records retention in line with legal requirements.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, and misconduct.
• Strong understanding of performance management practices and progressive discipline.
• Experience with ADA interactive process, accommodation analysis, and documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with employment compliance reporting requirements (EEO-1, etc.) and background check adjudication (FCRA).

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of complex ER issues, document findings and recommend actions.
• Develop and implement a standardized performance management framework with coaching guidance.
• Advise on ADA accommodation requests and interactive process with managers and counsel.
• Oversee EEO-1 reporting, background checks, I-9 coordination, and personnel file management.
• Interpret HR policy and advise partners on employment law changes and implications.
