University of California, Berkeley is seeking an Employee Labor & Relations Consultant 4 to contribute to campus-wide employee and labor relations work. You will interpret and enforce policy and contract language, advise on performance matters, and conduct investigations with confidentiality.

The role covers campus regions, involving collaboration with managers and unions, and requires strong analytical and communication skills.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (required).
• 5-6 years of professional HR work in employee and labor relations.
• Knowledge of labor/employment law and best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to draft detailed reports and position statements.
• Proven ability to coach managers and handle high-conflict situations.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).

• Labor Relations: manage collective bargaining agreements and grievances, participate in negotiations and settlements.
• Employee Relations: handle performance management, investigations, discipline, and documentation.
• Provide guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on policies and procedures.
• Advice on leave administration (FMLA, CFRA) and compliance with ADA and related laws.
• Support communications and training related to employee and labor relations.
• Assist with special projects and preparation of briefing memos and training materials.
