Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced engineer to lead EMP/E3 research and analysis, define requirements, and develop assessments and tests for Navy systems. The role includes evaluating E3/EMP impacts on shipboard configurations and conducting mission analyses to support sponsor requirements.

The position requires substantial experience in RF/Microwave, EMP/E3/EMC domains, plus the ability to plan MIL-STD 461 testing at NOTES and participate in LLCW demonstrations, with a DoD clearance path and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• 12 years of knowledge base and subject matter expertise in related fields.
• 7 years of experience in R&D, testing, engineering, or integration for warfare/electronic systems.
• Experience in RF and Microwave, EMP, E3, EMI/EMC, E3 computation and RF simulation.
• Shipboard testing experience including PCI.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMP research, analysis, requirements definition and development, assessments, test and evaluation.

Job description

Responsibilities include:

• Performing EMP research, analysis, requirements definition and development, assessments, test and evaluation.

• Assess impacts of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) / EMP on shipboard configurations and systems, perform EMP risk impacts and mission analysis.

• Assess High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) effects. Will develop technical and operational conclusions and write technical reports that meet sponsor requirements.

• Plan and participate in MIL-STD 461 testing at the Naval Ordnance Transient Electromagnetic Simulator (NOTES) test facility.

• Plan and participate in EMP testing for Low Level Continuous Wave (LLCW) technology demonstration; perform data acquisition and analysis; refine LLCW Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Minimum Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.

• Twelve (12) years of demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to one or more of the following, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Naval Architecture.

• Seven (7) years of experience in Research, Development, Test, Engineering, or Integration related to warfare systems or electronic systems.

• Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following specific areas: RF and Microwave Engineering; Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP); Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3); Electromagnetic Interference (EMI); Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC); E3 Computation and RF Simulation; Pulse Current Injection (PCI) shipboard testing

• Must have an Active Secret or Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance.

Compensation Details:

US: $150,000 - $175,000
