Job summary

Bexorg, Inc. in New Haven, CT is hiring a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to own electronics, firmware, and real‑time control for BrainEx.

You will bridge hardware and software across a closed‑loop physiological platform, developing production firmware, sensors, and data systems in a fast‑paced, collaborative team. You will collaborate with bioprocess engineers, surgeons, and scientists to tighten control, extend run duration, and improve reproducibility across donors, while delivering

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience shipping embedded systems in production or mission-critical environments.
• Deep fluency in C/C++ on microcontrollers with RTOS concepts and low-level peripheral programming.
• Strong Python skills for supervisory control services, data pipelines, and tooling.
• Track record of owning projects end-to-end: requirements, schematic/board design, firmware, validation.
• Comfortable in a wet-lab environment with hardware bring-up and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own embedded firmware stack (bare‑metal, RTOS, embedded Linux) from architecture to deployment.
• Implement PID, cascade, and feedforward control for real‑time performance.
• Design state machines, interlocks, and safety shutdowns for reliable operation.
• Integrate field buses and device hardware across pumps, sensors, and actuators.
• Lead hardware bring-up, calibration, and validation with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Contribute to Python supervisory layer, data pipelines, and operator interfaces.
