Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a hardware test engineer to advance EEG and Home Sleep Test systems, reporting to the VP of Device Systems. You will perform hardware characterization, firmware unit tests, and verification to meet quality and regulatory requirements, collaborating with hardware, firmware, system, and software engineers.

Based in Boston, this role supports a hybrid work model with in-office presence about three days per week; remote work is possible for the rest.

Qualifications

BS in engineering or related field.
5+ years of professional engineering experience with BS or 3+ years with MS.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Experience with RTOS-based embedded software.
Python scripting experience.
Troubleshooting hardware/firmware in electromechanical systems.
Proficiency with Git/JIRA and GitHub.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute device testing in accordance with Beacon’s QMS.
Develop and document test plans, protocols, and scripts for embedded systems.
Develop and maintain test procedures, fixtures, and equipment.
Conduct functional, integration, system, and regression testing on hardware and firmware.
Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to troubleshoot issues.
Ensure products meet FDA, CE, 60601 regulatory requirements.
Implement process improvements and test automation to enhance quality.
