Job summary

Blue Origin Engines seeks a Senior Manager of Embedded Software to lead avionics software across engine programs. You will own the full software lifecycle, define architectures, and drive cost-effective, safe, and reliable software for next‑gen propulsion systems.

You will manage cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and partner with Quality, Safety, and Enterprise teams to meet program objectives. A BS in engineering and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in engineering with avionics or embedded software development and maintenance.
• 3+ years of project management and/or management experience.
• Strong communication across all levels of the organization.
• Experience leading teams delivering safety-critical embedded software products.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; significant leadership experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver safety-critical embedded software products for engine avionics.
• Define and maintain software architecture and roadmaps for each program.
• Own lifecycle from development through qualification and production, with cost-aware delivery.
• Identify and mitigate technical and programmatic risks; communicate with leadership as needed.
• Coordinate with Enterprise functions to drive quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
• Oversee talent acquisition, development, and performance management to sustain a productive team.
