GE Aerospace in Cincinnati seeks a Software Lead Engineer to be the technical lead for embedded engine control software. You will own the design of highly complex modules and integrate across multiple systems, guiding the team to meet DO-178C and MIL-HDBK-516C requirements.

You will drive design, development and verification of real-time software, mentor engineers, and coordinate architecture decisions. You will also oversee testing in desktop simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments,

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM major
• Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, including embedded software development
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship planned for this opening

Mansioni

• Provide technical leadership for definition, design, implementation, and verification of embedded software delivering real-time control
• Lead architecture across product versions and ensure safety, determinism, performance, and maintainability
• Guide technology choices, design decisions, and implementation strategy; dive into implementation when needed
• Ensure software development and verification comply with DO-178C and MIL-HDBK-516C
• Translate customer/system requirements into executable software requirements with systems teams
• Plan and estimate software work; mentor developers and remove obstacles
• Direct testing in desktop simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments; support lab/field validation
• Lead and participate in reviews (requirements, design, code, test) and communicate status and risks
• Develop action plans to resolve technical issues; make data-driven recommendations
• Drive efficiency by eliminating duplication and adopting automation
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring; develop training as needed
• Document and control technical data per policies; protect IP
