Job summary

Raytheon in Indianapolis is seeking software engineers to support development, test, and lifecycle tasks for aircraft embedded software applications. The role emphasizes problem solving, learning from world-class engineers, and 100% onsite work in Indianapolis, IN.

Ideal candidates have strong C++, C#, Ada, Python experience, Windows development, and a solid understanding of OOP. Applicants must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance and are US citizens.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in software requirements, design, development, integration, and test.
• Experience developing and testing software using C++, C#, Ada, Python, or closely related software languages.
• Experience developing software in a Windows environment.
• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Experience with Git for source code management.
• Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with software systems design, integration, and management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Use and provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
• Work closely with other software engineers and systems engineers to design ideal solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind.
• Support all aspects of a software development life cycle as members of a multi-disciplined team, including concept, requirements, design, development, integration, test, and maintenance tasks.
• Provide technical leadership through mentorship, reviews, and participation in proposals, design, and process improvement.
