Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Rolling Meadows, IL seeks a Department Manager (SWDT) to lead a diverse embedded software team. You will direct execution, manage performance, and coordinate with MSTS stakeholders to deliver MSS contracts.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in STEM with 10+ years software/firmware experience or MS with 8+ years.
• Experience and depth in software engineering principles and lifecycle.
• Experience with personnel management activities: performance, development, retention, recruiting.
• Strong problem solving: decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development.
• Experience leading small-to-medium technical teams delivering solutions.
• Familiarity with an engineering lifecycle in an agile environment.
• US Citizenship and active DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive strong technical, cost, and schedule performance in MSS contracts.
• Drive operational efficiency and affordability within MSS programs and SWDT.
• Be primary contact for SWDT activities supporting MSS across MSTS programs.
• Review organizational metrics with program and leadership.
• Collaborate on future business opportunities, proposals, and captures.
• Staffing projections and execution of staffing plans.
• Communicate with employees, promote inclusion, mentoring, and development.
• Recruit talent and advise on staffing, tools, and processes for SWDT.
