Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Rolling Meadows, IL, seeks a Sr. Staff Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain core firmware for complex defense systems. You will design, code, test, and integrate software across multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires deep C++ expertise, experience with Linux or VxWorks, and practice with Agile/Waterfall. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar engineering discipline with a minimum of 14+ years of engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 12+ years, or PhD with 10+ years, or equivalent with 4 extra years.
• Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming in C++.
• Familiarity with software architecture and design patterns.
• Scripting languages such as Python, Bash.
• Embedded software development on Linux or VxWorks.
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with diverse version control systems and Agile tools.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software and firmware components for target hardware.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet requirements and interfaces.
• Apply Model-Based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices in delivery.
• Adhere to standards, processes, and lifecycle for engineering applications.
