Job summary

Varda Space Industries seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team to determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software for operations. Responsibilities span from requirements capture to flight support.

The role requires experience with real-time embedded systems, C++, and safety-critical software. On-site in El Segundo, CA, with stock options and relocation support provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in safety-critical software.
• 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Experience developing and testing software in C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to integration and testing.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure quality through software test, verification, and validation.
