Job summary

Varda Space Industries invites applications for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer on the Flight Software team in El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on defining and implementing the software that governs spacecraft behavior in orbit, spanning requirements, design, implementation, and testing.

You will develop reliable firmware for the spacecraft, take ownership of software lifecycle, and ensure system quality through V&V.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with safety-critical software experience.
• 5+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficient in C++ with strong language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to testing and integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and initial design trades.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure quality through software test, verification, and validation.
