Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Senior Firmware Software Engineer for the Flight Software team in El Segundo, CA. You will develop firmware for spacecraft operations, spanning from requirements through test and flight support.

The role requires 5+ years in safety-critical software, real-time embedded experience, and proficiency in C++. On-site work and collaboration with a leading space startup are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field focused on safety critical software.
• 5+ years developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems in C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own all software development aspects from design to integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and design trades.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded software in C++.
• Build highly reliable software systems and ensure quality through V&V techniques.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure mission success.
