Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Embedded and Real Time in Melbourne, Florida. You will design, develop, and maintain embedded mission systems software within a real-time OS environment and participate in the full software lifecycle in an Agile Scrum setting.

The role requires a STEM degree with related software experience, strong C/C++ and Python skills, and an active DoD clearance. Relocation assistance may be available; comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in STEM software development (or 3+ with a Master’s, or 1+ with PhD).
• Experience in C, OO C++, and/or Python for safety-critical apps.
• Experience with software testing and low-level requirements.
• Familiarity with RTOS such as VxWorks, Integrity, or RT Embedded Linux.
• Experience with static/dynamic analysis and CI/CD tools.
• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and maintain embedded mission systems software.
• Participate in full software development life cycle from requirements to deployment.
• Architect and develop on real-time operating systems in an Agile Scrum setting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software baselines.
