Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems in Melbourne, FL is seeking an experienced Principal/Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead the software team through the full lifecycle, from requirements to release. The role emphasizes C/C++, C#, and Windows/Linux environments, with opportunity to tackle large, complex integrations.

Candidates must hold STEM degrees, be a US citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance, and demonstrate leadership, testing, and collaboration with program management

Qualifications

• US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance and any program accesses needed.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of experience in software engineering OR a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
• Experience with large software systems and the full software development lifecycle.
• Software development/implementation experience in C, C++, C#

Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software
• Lead a software team and/or provide leadership by giving technical direction to software engineers
• Gather and report software metrics
• Support software working groups with the customer
• Ensure software best practices
• Develop software products from all phases of the software lifecycle
